0.25 cup slivered almonds
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb PEI green beans, trimmed
1 lemon, zested and juiced
salt
freshly ground black pepper
In a small dry frying pan toast almonds over low heat until light golden brown, stirring often, 4 – 6 minutes. Set aside.
In a medium pan over medium high heat, add butter and olive. Once butter is melted, add green beans and sauté until tender crisp, 4 – 5 minutes.
Add lemon zest and juice, season with salt and pepper. Top with toasted almonds.
