Canada’s Food Island Gift Cards on Sale at 20% Off Starting August 25th

August 23, 2021 - Charlottetown, PE - Islanders and visitors will have the chance to save money while supporting local businesses this fall with the latest promotional campaign from Canada’s Food Island Gift Card Program.

Beginning Wednesday, August 25th, gift cards will be on sale at a 20% discount at PEI retail locations while supplies last. Locals and visitors will be able to purchase up to $500 in Canada’s Food Island gift cards per person at the discounted rate.

In total, 40,000 cards ($2,000,000 in retail value) will be available for purchase as part of the sale. Gift cards are available in $50 increments only.

The versatility of Canada’s Food Island gift cards and focus on local merchants sets them apart from standard gift cards. The gift cards are redeemable at over 300 local businesses across PEI, including restaurants, accommodations, retail shops, golf courses, food markets, and more. Canada’s Food Island gift cards are exclusively available for purchase on PEI at the following retail locations: Mel’s convenience stores, Murphy’s Pharmacies, and Co-op stores in O’leary, Tignish and Souris.

Initially launched in August of 2020, the gift card program was designed to support the Island tourism industry during the global pandemic. The gift cards proved popular from the outset and one year on, over $3 million cards have been sold since the launch of the program.
